About Us

Upalobdi Samaj Kallyan Samiti-USKS is a Non Government Organization working in Brahmanbaria District. It was established in 1985 and registered with Department of Social Service & Department of Youth Development . USKS is well known locally and nationally as a non-profit organization / CSO for social development. The organization has been working for 34 years on volunteers, government projects, local government institutions, improving the socio-economic condition of the rural people and in times of national calamity. In the last 3 years, under the supervision of the British Council, the European Union and the Cabinet Division of the Government of Bangladesh have played a very important role in good governance with the Union Council through the P4D project. The Union Parishad has implemented various projects on ward meetings, budget meetings, tax collection, prevention of child marriage, sanitation and hygiene awareness, environmental protection and cleanliness. In addition, free sewing machines, tube wells, sanitation, goats, cows and solar power have been provided to the ultra poor after income-generating training with the funding of Bangladesh NGO Foundation. Income oriented programs are being carried out with the grant of Bangladesh National Social Welfare Fund and Youth Welfare Fund.

Founded in 1985, Upalobdi Samaj Kallyan Samiti (USKS) is a prominent non-profit Civil Society Organization (CSO) dedicated to social development in the Brahmanbaria District. For over 34 years, we have worked tirelessly to improve the socio-economic conditions of rural communities, collaborating with government bodies, local institutions, and volunteers to provide aid during both stable times and national calamities.

Key Focus Areas & Impact

We believe in holistic development through targeted interventions. Our recent and ongoing initiatives include:

  • Good Governance (P4D Project): In partnership with the British Council, the European Union, and the Cabinet Division, we empower Union Councils to improve ward meetings, budget transparency, and tax collection.
  • Social Awareness: Active campaigning for the prevention of child marriage, environmental protection, and cleanliness.
  • Public Health: Promoting sanitation and hygiene awareness across rural areas.
  • Livelihood & Empowerment: Providing income-generating training and essential assets—such as sewing machines, livestock (goats/cows), tube wells, and solar power—to the ultra-poor with support from the Bangladesh NGO Foundation.

To work for Society through raising awareness of people on various issues like Sanitation, Human Rights, Good Governance, Social development and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)s.

  • To provides training to the people including religious leaders, leaflets, posters and bill boards are used to preventing the spread of disease.
  • To respect, regards and love for women, children, senior citizens.
  • To develop, linkage, network, collaboration and institutional alliance to explore diversified mechanisms for better service delivery.
